showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain generally east of 

highway 69 in Oklahoma and in northwest Arkansas. Thunderstorms with 

locally heavy rain were located in Sequoyah county in Oklahoma and 

Franklin and Madison counties in Arkansas. The precipitation was in 

the Fort Smith area. The precipitation was in the Bentonville, 

Rogers and Fayetteville area. Movement was to the northeast at 

greater than 40 mph. The average amount where it rained last hour 

was one tenth to one quarter of an inch with maximum amounts of 

three quarters to around an inch. Coverage, and intensity increased 

during the last hour. The Tulsa area forecast for late this 

afternoon and into this evening, partly sunny, a chance of showers 

and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may be severe .
