...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM CDT THIS 

EVENING FOR NORTHWESTERN SAN JACINTO AND TRINITY COUNTIES...



At 905 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 

thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 

and 7 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 

to 4 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is 

already occurring.



HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing

         flash flooding.



SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.



IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,

         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Trinity, Groveton and Sebastopol.



This includes the following Low Water Crossings...

	Farm to Market 1280 at Little White Rock Creek.



Around 6 to 7 inches of rainfall have fallen near Westville and 

Groveton. Considerable flash flooding may be occuring in these 

areas, with water possibly on roadways, especially along US 287 as 

storms train over this region.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.



Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 

enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 

Weather Service when you can do so safely.
