...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 AM CDT THIS 

MORNING FOR NORTHERN JASPER AND TYLER COUNTIES...



At 230 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 

rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 7 inches of rain have 

fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. 

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the 

warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.



HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing

         flash flooding.



SOURCE...Radar.



IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,

         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Jasper, Woodville, Colmesneil, Chester, Town Bluff, Rockland, 

  Ebenezer, Warren, Browndell, Spurger, Ivanhoe, Hillister and Sam 

  Rayburn Dam.



Numerous reports of flash flooding in the warned area. Flash 

flooding will worsen in areas, where intense rainfall continues. 

Some locations in southern Tyler county will approach 10 inches of 

rain over the next few hours.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.
