...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 AM CDT THIS 

MORNING FOR UNION, COLUMBIA, LAFAYETTE, SOUTHERN MILLER, 

SOUTHEASTERN CASS, NORTHEASTERN HARRISON AND EASTERN MARION COUNTIES 

AND NORTHWESTERN BOSSIER, NORTHWESTERN CADDO AND NORTHWESTERN 

WEBSTER PARISHES...



At 702 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 

thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. 

Widespread rainfall amounts of 4 to 6 inches, with isolated higher 

amounts near 8 inches, have fallen across the warned area. 

Additional rainfall amounts of a quarter to three quarters of an 

inch, with isolated higher amounts, are possible in the warned area 

through 830 am. Numerous roads are flooded and closed across the 

warned area this morning, with several high water rescues needed for 

stranded vehicles. Flash flooding is ongoing.



HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing

         flash flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,

         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  El Dorado, Magnolia, Springhill, Smackover, Stamps, Waldo, 

  Lewisville, Norphlet, Huttig, Junction City, McNeil, Vivian, 

  Jefferson, Cullen, Plain Dealing, Oil City, Bradley, Taylor, 

  Strong and Calion.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.



Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 

enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 

Weather Service when you can do so safely.
