...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 115 PM CDT THIS 

AFTERNOON FOR NORTHWESTERN BELL, EASTERN CORYELL AND WESTERN 

MCLENNAN COUNTIES...



At 1222 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 

thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 

and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is likely ongoing.



HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.



SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.



IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,

         highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other poor

         drainage and low lying areas.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Killeen, Waco, Copperas Cove, Harker Heights, Gatesville, 

  McGregor, Fort Cavazos, Valley Mills, Kempner, Crawford, Fort 

  Gates, Mother Neff State Park, Belton Lake, Lake Waco, China 

  Spring, Oglesby, South Mountain, Ding Dong, Whitson and Osage.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
