...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM CDT THIS MORNING...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.



* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following 

  counties, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Madison, Trinity and 

  Walker.



* WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT Monday.



* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 

  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads 

  remain closed due to flooding.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 202 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges

    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is

    already occurring in the warned area. Between 4 and 8 inches

    of rain have fallen. Numerous roads remained closed due to

    flooding.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    College Station, Bryan, Madisonville, Riverside, Bedias, Kyle

    Field, Iola and Wellborn.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 

enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 

Weather Service when you can do so safely.
