...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 AM CDT THIS MORNING...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues especially 

  along and near the Indian Creek Basin.



* WHERE...A portion of north central Alabama, including the 

  following county, Madison.



* WHEN...Until 930 AM CDT.



* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 

  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams 

  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 735 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges

    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms.Though rain has

    started to taper off, flooding is ongoing and expected to

    continue in the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain

    have fallen.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Northwestern Huntsville, Madison, Redstone Arsenal, Triana,

    Marshall Space Flight Center and Harvest.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.
