night and remain breezy through much of the weekend in the wake of a

deep trough moving into the continental US.  Northwesterly gusts

look to stay within the 25 to 30 mph range  with isolated stronger

gusts up to 40 mph possible in elevated  terrain. Isolated areas of

light rain or drizzle may persist into  Saturday, though

accumulations are not expected to meet the  wetting rain threshold.

Cooler, below average temperatures  continue through Friday with

drier, warmer conditions expected by  mid to late weekend amd into

early next week.

Another inbound frontal system will bring light rain to areas north

of Cape Mendocino. A few hundredths of an inch per hour could

accumulate to a few tenths, but not much more than that are 

expected. Colder temperatures above 3000 feet this morning may bring

frost to mountain areas and valleys, if skies clear in Trinity, E

Humboldt and NE Mendocino. Snow levels are expected to be around

5,000 feet.
