High pressure resides off the west coast generally centered near 40N/140W...while a weak disturbance is moving from the coastal waters of southern CA toward the CA/MX border. Today and tomorrow will bring an opportunity of scattered showers and t-storms mainly over the central/southern Sierra and portions of southern NV...along with the potential over the transverse mountains mainly from Ventura to San Bernardino counties. Then for the latter half of the week...the high pressure will weaken as a disturbance moves toward BC and the Pacific Northwest...and another weak upr low moves slowly along 30N toward coastal southern CA. Might see another round of mainly afternoon and early evening showers/t-storms for the southern Sierra into NV by the weekend.
