...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM APPROACHING THE WATERS...



The areas affected include...



  New York Harbor...



At 431 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, 

capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and some lightning 

strikes. This thunderstorm was located near Upper New York Harbor, 

moving southeast at 15 knots.



Locations impacted include...

Upper New York Harbor, Lower New York Harbor, and The Verrazano

Narrows Bridge.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher 

waves, and some lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor 

immediately until this storm passes.
