...THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING OVER THE CARIBBEAN WATERS...



At 230 AM AST, the Doppler radar indicated a cluster of strong 

thunderstorms redeveloping across the offshore Caribbean waters, 

capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. Additional

thunderstorms were developing over the coastal Caribbean waters of

Puerto Rico, about 10 NM south of Salinas. These thunderstorms 

were moving west-northwest at 20 knots. At least through the rest

of the morning hours, thunderstorms can develop across the

Caribbean waters and the Mona Passage.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher

waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor

immediately until this storm passes.

...TORMENTAS ELECTRICAS DESARROLLANDOSE SOBRE LAS AGUAS DEL CARIBE...



A las 230 AM AST, el radar Doppler indico un grupo de tormentas 

electricas fuertes que se estan redesarrollando a traves de las 

aguas mar afuera del Caribe, capaces de producir vientos de 

alrededor de 30 nudos. Tormentas electricas adicionales se estaban 

desarrollando sobre las aguas costeras del Caribe de Puerto Rico, 

alrededor de 10 millas nauticas al sur de Salinas. Estas tormentas 

electricas se estaban moviendo hacia el oeste-noroeste a 20 nudos. 

Al menos durante el resto de las horas de la manana, las tormentas 

electricas pueden desarrollarse a traves de las aguas del Caribe y 

el Pasaje de Mona.



MEDIDAS DE PRECAUCION/PREPARACION...



Los navegantes pueden esperar rafagas de vientos de alrededor de 30 

nudos, oleaje localmente mas alto, y rayos.  Los navegantes deben 

buscar puerto seguro inmediatamente hasta que estas tronadas pasen.
