In 1994, the temperature soared to 101 degrees in McCook Nebraska, a 

record for the day and the earliest in the year triple digits has 

ever been reached at that location. 



In 2011, severe thunderstorms produced hail up to the size of golf 

balls in the Burlington Colorado area, and a wind gust estimated at 

70 mph broke a power pole in town.
