The heaviest damage was along Highway 11, and then again on Leeville Road near the intersections of Miller Road and Deermont Road. Numerous trees were uprooted, snapped, or had large sections broken out of them. Several power lines were downed as well. A few homes had shingle or roof damage from large limbs, along with some fences damaged. One shed had the roof blown off. The tree fall pattern was to the southeast. .Carterville Road Wind Swath... Rating: TSTM/Wind Estimated Peak Wind: 65-80 mph Path Length /statute/: 1 mile Path Width /maximum/: 0.33 miles Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 5/13/2024 Start Time: 4:35 AM CDT Start Location: 1 SE Petal / Forrest County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 31.3327 / -89.2562 End Date: 5/13/2024 End Time: 4:38 AM CDT End Location: 2 SE Petal / Forrest County / MS End Lat/Lon: 31.3207 / -89.2501 Survey Summary: This swath of wind started on the southeast side of Petal near Boxtel Street and Crabapple Drive, and moved south southeast across Carterville Road into the Carterville community. Initially a shed had the roof torn off and many large tree limbs broken in trees. Tree damage increased quickly between Corinth Road and Carterville Road. Numerous trees were uprooted or had large limbs snapped along Carterville Road, as well as Harvey Avenue, Jones Street, and Azalea Avenue. Three homes had shingles peeled off, and one home had a large section of siding removed. Power lines were downed as well.
