Predawn temperatures were in the 50s with light northeast winds. A upper level weather system will move eastward into western Nebraska late today. Showers and storms will develop over western sections of Nebraska and Kansas with some of them becoming severe. Daytime highs will range from the 50s in northern Nebraska to the upper 70s in central Oklahoma. A cold front will push southward across the central plains tonight and bring numerous showers and storms to the region. A few of the storms could reach severe limits over western and parts of central Kansas tonight.
