####018001417#### AWUS83 KGLD 040837 RWSGLD Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains National Weather Service Goodland KS 237 AM MDT Sat May 4 2024 High temperatures approached 80 degrees across the majority of the Tri-State area on Friday. Widespread thunderstorms affected the region late Friday afternoon and evening, producing severe weather across portions of the area, mainly in the form of 60 to 70 mph wind gusts, though a few instances of large hail were observed. The airport in McCook, Nebraska measured a wind gust of 71 mph at 749 PM CDT Friday evening. At 230 AM MDT this morning, temperatures across the region ranged from the mid 30s in northeast Colorado, where the sky was clear, to the mid 40s in northwest Kansas and southwest Nebraska, where overcast cloud cover persists. Winds were from the north at 15 to 25 mph. OUTLOOK... Benign weather, characterized by slightly below average temperatures, mostly clear skies and light winds, will prevail today. Strengthening southerly winds and a warming trend will follow, on Sunday, as yet another low pressure system develops in the lee of the central Rockies. The aforementioned low pressure system will bring active weather, including a potential for severe thunderstorms, to portions of the Central Plains on Monday, mainly in central and eastern Kansas and Oklahoma. $$ Vincent
