Ahead of the line of storms, winds are from the southeast at around 10 mph, and behind the line they are from the northwest to north at 15 to 20 mph. Skies are cloudy and temperatures range from mid 40s in northwestern Iowa to around 60 in the southeast. The storms will progress eastward across Iowa this morning, clearing out by the afternoon and yielding to partly cloudy skies. It will be a bit cool, with highs in the upper 50s north to 70s far southeast, and northwest winds will increase to around 20 mph and gusty during the afternoon. Tonight and beyond: Sunday will be dry and pleasant, with partly to mostly sunny skies and afternoon highs in the 65 to 70 degree range. Monday will then be milder but breezy, with temperatures peaking in the low to mid 70s and southeast winds increasing to 20 to 30 mph at times. Thunderstorms will move into Iowa from the southwest late in the day and affect the state mainly between Monday evening and early Tuesday morning. Severe weather may be possible during this time. Lower chances for showers and thunderstorms will then linger into the middle of next week, with daily highs in the low to mid 70s Tuesday and Wednesday. $$
