VEDAUWOO 64 CHEYENNE 1 NW 58 The major winter storm will slowly begin to ease over parts of the northern/central Plains and Upper Midwest through the day. However, areas of blowing snow and freezing rain may impact travel throughout today. Expect blizzard conditions to persist through today across portions of the High Plains into the Northern Plains owing to the combination of high winds and snowfall, which could bring down tree branches and power lines. Moreover, a mix of sleet freezing rain will continue today across the Dakotas and northern Minnesota. Additional ice accumulations of .10-.50" are forecast in this area, which will maintain a threat of scattered power outages and tree damage, in addition to dangerous travel conditions. The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction Center at 900 PM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather Service office for additional information on this event. Asherman $$
