####018009455#### ACUS44 KWBC 141527 SCCNS4 Storm Summary Number 3 for Midwest to Great Lakes Winter Storm NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 900 AM CST Sun Jan 14 2024 ...Winter storm moving further away from the Great Lakes and New England as lake-effect snow continues downwind from the Great Lakes... Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for portions of Michigan and upstate New York downwind from Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, as well as portions of the western slopes of the central Appalachians. Wind Advisories are in effect for the interior northern Mid-Atlantic into the central Appalachians and the lower Great Lakes. For a detailed graphical depiction of the latest watches, warnings and advisories, please see www.weather.gov At 800 AM CST...The deep low pressure system responsible for the latest round of winter storm across the Midwest to the Great Lakes continued to move farther away into southeastern Canada this morning. The associated snow across the Midwest and much of New England had ended. However, as a reinforcing surge of arctic air pushing through the Appalachians this morning, brief periods of snow squalls were impacting portions of central Pennsylvania and into the panhandles of Maryland and West Virginia. Meanwhile, as the surge of arctic air was firmly in place across the Great Lakes, lake-effect snow continued to fall across portions of Michigan and upstate New York downwind from Lake Erie and Lake Ontario under strong west-southwesterly winds with gusts locally exceeding 60 mph. ...Selected preliminary Storm Total Snowfall in inches from 700 AM CST Thu Jan 11 through 800 AM CST Sun Jan 14... ...MAINE...
