There will be one more surge of moisture moving south along the coast ahead of the frontal system approaching from the Pacific, which will produce more widespread moderate to locally heavy rainfall this afternoon through tonight. This feature will move fairly quickly, limiting the risk of flash flooding, but isolated instances of flash flooding will be possible in coastal portions of central and southern California. Additionally, this surge of moisture will produce one more round of heavy snowfall in the Sierra Nevada and Transverse and Peninsular Ranges, then snowfall will taper off on Thursday.
