Beginning tonight, a separate low pressure center will rapidly track off the Mid-Atlantic coastline, leading to widespread heavy snowfall across central Pennsylvania, southern New York, and southern New England through Tuesday. The combination of heavy wet snow and powerful winds tied to this rapidly strengthening system could lead to tree/powerline damage and widespread travel impacts across the Northeast. Moreover, moderate coastal flooding is expected along the Jersey Shore and further north along the New England coastline. A Slight Risk of excessive rainfall is also in effect over portions of the Southeast today as heavy showers and thunderstorms continue in the warm sector.
