  Beyond 5NM from shore...



* Until 845 PM EDT.



* At 813 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 11 nm north of

  Granite Point, or 16 nm north of Granite Island, moving northeast

  at 30 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and small hail.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and 

           suddenly higher waves.



* The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
