The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Coastal waters from Pensacola FL to Pascagoula MS out 20 NM...

  Mississippi Sound...

  North Mobile Bay...

  Pensacola Bay Area including Santa Rosa Sound...

  Perdido Bay Area...

  South Mobile Bay...

  Waters from Pensacola FL to Pascagoula MS from 20 to 60 NM...



* Until 330 AM CDT.



* At 155 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line

  extending from near Dauphin Island Bridge to 15 nm south of

  Farewell Buoy to 41 nm south of Sand Island Lighthouse, moving east

  at 50 knots.



  HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 50 knots.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high 

           winds. Small craft could capsize in suddenly higher 

           waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Big Lagoon, East Fowl River Bridge, Fort Pickens, Farewell Buoy,

  Mississippi Sound East Of Pascagoula, Heron Bay, Point Clear, Weeks

  Bay, Gulf Shores Beach, and Dauphin Island Bridge.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 AM CDT for southwestern

Alabama...and the adjacent coastal waters.



Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are

expected.



Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the

open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded

metal objects.
