SITUATION
At 1200 UTC Tropical Cyclone Megan was centred over land within 20 nautical
miles of
 latitude sixteen decimal two south (16.2S)
 longitude one hundred and thirty six decimal eight east (136.8E)
Recent movement : slow moving
Maximum winds   : 55 knots
Central pressure: 981 hPa

AREA AFFECTED
Within 60 nautical miles in NE quadrant
  and within 50 nautical miles in SE quadrant
  and within 50 nautical miles in NW quadrant.

FORECAST
Maximum winds to 55 knots near the centre, easing to 35 knots by 0000 UTC 19
March, and to 30 knots by 1200 UTC 19 March.

Winds above 48 knots within 20 nautical miles in NE quadrant
  and within 20 nautical miles in NW quadrant with very rough seas and moderate
swell.
