The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a



* Tornado Warning for...

  Northeastern Blue Earth County in south central Minnesota...



* Until 500 PM CDT.



* At 426 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing a tornado

  were located along a line extending from near Mapleton to near

  Vernon Center, moving northeast at 35 mph.



  HAZARD...Tornado.



  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.



  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 

           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 

           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree 

           damage is likely.



* These dangerous storms will be near...

  Good Thunder around 430 PM CDT.

  St. Clair and Pemberton around 435 PM CDT.

  Mankato around 445 PM CDT.

  Eagle Lake around 450 PM CDT.



Other locations impacted by these tornadic storms include Mankato

Airport and Skyline.



This includes the following highways...

 U.S. Highway 14 between mile markers 131 and 143.

 U.S. Highway 169 between mile markers 35 and 36, and between mile

markers 52 and 55.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest

floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a

mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter

and protect yourself from flying debris.
