The heaviest snow showers have moved out of the area, thus allowing 

the Winter Storm Warning to be canceled in Mono County. There may 

still be some lingering light snow showers into the morning hours, 

so please check on the road conditions and drive with caution if you 

need to travel through the area Sunday morning as roads may still be 

slick.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM PDT THIS 

MORNING...



* WHAT...Heavy snow. Snow accumulations up to three inches. Winds 

  gusting as high as 50 mph across the Sierra crest, and up to 20 

  mph in Sierra valleys.



* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area.



* WHEN...Until 8 AM PDT this morning.



* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will 

  likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/2 

  mile due to falling snow. The strong winds and weight of snow on 

  tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power 

  outages. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Very strong 

  winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in 

your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for 

the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1 in 

Nevada, and calling CALTRANS 1-800-427-7623 in California.
