...HIGH FLOWS CONTINUE ON THE PORTNEUF RIVER AND THE SNAKE RIVER
AT BLACKFOOT...

Unseasonably warm temperatures Wednesday through Saturday have
contributed to additional snow melt and runoff into The Portneuf
River at Pocatello and Topaz, also the Snake River at
Blackfoot. Near bankful conditions are expected to continue
through about Tuesday of next week.  Some seepage and ponding
is expected in low lying areas near the river. Widespread flooding
is not expected at this time. Parents should keep children and pets
away from the dangerously high, cold, and fast flows on the river. 
Scattered rain showers this weekend will help deplete the snowpack
at higher elevations.
