Continued warm temperatures this week will increase high elevation snow melt across the region and runoff into the river system of East Idaho. Increased reservoir outputs will also contribute to the rivers, continuing or increasing flows. The Snake and Teton Rivers are expected to remain steady or gradually increase through the week, and may flirt at times with the thresholds indicated for flooding. At this time, flooding along stretches of the river is not expected, but as flows increase, some encroachment of water at low areas along the banks may occur. Persons living or recreating near these rivers should exercise extreme caution when near the river bank. Young children and pets should be kept away from these areas. This high flow situtation is expected to intensify during the week. Cooler temperatures arriving by Saturday may mitigate snowmelt at higher elevations, but precipitation expected this weekend may offset the cooler temperatures. $$ For current weather and hydrologic information please visit... www.weather.gov/pocatello
