DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 700 AM CHST...2100 UTC...the center of Super Typhoon Bolaven
was located near Latitude 24.7 degrees North and Longitude
146.1 degrees East. Bolaven is moving northeast at 18 mph. It is
expected to maintain this general course with a dramatic increase in
forward speed through Sunday.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to 165 mph. Bolaven is
forecast to weaken through Sunday as it starts to become a
midlatitude low pressure system.

Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to 35 miles.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to
240 miles to the east and up to 160 miles to the west.
