The Montana Department of Environmental Quality has issued an air quality alert for Mineral and Ravalli counties in effect until 900AM 8/3/2017. The Mineral County alert is due to the Sunrise fire causing impacts along the I-90 corridor between Superior and Alberton. The Ravalli County alert is due to numerous wildfires burning around the Bitterroot Valley. This alert will be updated again at 900AM 8/3/2017. An Air Quality Alert means that particulates have been trending upwards and that an exceedence of the 24 hour National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) has occurred or may occur in the near future.
