Temperatures will warm into the low to mid 60s this afternoon with southerly winds increasing to 10 to 15 mph. The dry weather will continue tonight with temperatures only dropping into the mid 40s to near 50 degrees. A few rain showers will be possible on Tuesday but rain chances will increase Wednesday and Wednesday night as a strong upper- level system moves across the region. This system will bring a chance for a few strong to severe storms to the Mid-South late Wednesday, along with the potential for locally heavy rainfall. Temperatures will warm into the 60s Tuesday and Wednesday, with a few areas possibly reaching 70 degrees. Cooler and drier air will move into the Mid-South late this week behind a cold front. A few lingering showers are possible on Friday but dry weather is anticipated over the weekend. $$ MJ
