...Significant Rainfall Expected Next Week...

Developing southwesterly flow with periodic disturbances will
cause rainfall episodes of moderate to heavy rainfall across the
area through the week. The first of these is expected to arrive
late Monday into Tuesday.

Forecasts have been consistent to show average rainfall totals 
between 4 and 8 inches through the week, but localized higher
amounts will be likely in a few locations, potentially creating a
localized flood risk for urban or poor drainage areas.

In addition, runoff is expected to raise water levels within
multiple river basins across southeast Texas and southwest
Louisiana. Current forecast rain amounts suggest minor to 
moderate flooding will be possible at several stream gauge sites.

There is still enough uncertainty to limit forecast confidence 
regarding the overall magnitude of potential flooding and 
associated impacts, which will depend on where and how often 
repeating rounds of heaviest rainfall occurs. Details should 
become clearer as the event approaches and evolves through the 
week.
