FGUS85 KBOI 012311 RVSBOI IDC001-027-032311- HYDROLOGIC STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BOISE ID 411 PM MST WED MAR 1 2017 ...High Flows to Continue on the Boise River... The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Bureau of Reclamation will continue the high flows on the Boise River until further notice. These increased flows will help reduce the flood risk later in the spring, which can happen due to rapidly melting snow and rain. Flows on the Boise River at Glenwood Bridge were near 6500 cubic feet per second (cfs) as of 3:45 PM Wednesday. Flows are expected to remain near this level for the next several days. Minor flooding of low areas along the river will continue. Sections of the greenbelt path and nature trail will be impacted. Reservoir operations are subject to change and additional flow increases are possible in the coming weeks, depending on weather patterns. Persons are urged to use caution near the river, as these flows are dangerous. The water is deep, cold and swift and can quickly carry you away. Cold water can quickly cause hypothermia and overcome even the best swimmers. $$
