This damage fits with most of the damage seen across most of the county. This swath area in particular saw the brunt of the damage. The corridor of damage started just west of Highway 49 a few miles north of the Lauderdale/Clarke County line. The Zero community saw numerous trees and powerlines down along Zero Road, Springhill Road, Purvis Road, and Baggett Road. There was also sporadic damage along Fisher Road as well. Damage continued just beyond BW Johnson Road where one mobile home sustained roof damage. This damage swath was 8 miles long with max winds of 80 MPH. .Clarke County Wind Damage... Survey Summary: Survey team was unable to find a consistent wind swath with the damage caused in Clarke County. There were downed trees and powerlines reported across the county, but the damage was not confined to one particular area. Team observed snapped trees and powerlines along County Road 280. A shed was blown down behind a house along County Road 280 as well. The team also observed snapped trees south of Quitman along Highway 145. Several more trees were uprooted along County Road 617 just north of the Clarke/Wayne County line. Max winds are estimated to be near 80 MPH across Clarke County. .West Bolton Tornado... Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 85 mph Path Length /statute/: 3.09 miles Path Width /maximum/: 105 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/09/2024 Start Time: 10:14 PM CDT Start Location: 3 W Bolton / Hinds County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 32.362 / -90.5106 End Date: 05/09/2024 End Time: 10:21 PM CDT End Location: 1 SSW Bolton / Hinds County / MS End Lat/Lon: 32.3455 / -90.4627 Survey Summary: The tornado began near Old Highway 80 near the intersection of Pleasant Hill Road, where large branches were broken. It then moved east along I-20, where large softwood tree branches were broken and uprooted along Hwy 80, where it then crossed I-20 and continued snapping large tree branches along Frontage Road.
