NZUS44 KHGX 110920 MARINE .MARINE... Light northeasterly flow this morning will increase and veer to easterly this afternoon as a coastal trough builds in the Southwestern Gulf. Advisory conditions will begin this afternoon and continue through this evening. Persistent strong easterly flow will cause tides Sunday night to potentially reach 3.5 ft MLLW and wave run-up may occur in coastal-flood prone areas, such as Hwy 87 on Bolivar. There is moderate uncertainty with the track of the coastal low, but the most likely scenario at this time is that it moves just along the Texas Coast into the Northern Gulf. There is high confidence in periods of showers and thunderstorms late Sunday night through Monday morning with strong to severe storms possible. Expect locally higher wind and waves near any thunderstorms. A strong cold front will push offshore on Monday afternoon, causing northerly winds offshore to once again surge to 25-30 kts sustained and gusts near 40 kts. A gale warning will likely be required. Seas will increase to 9-12 feet and occasionally up to 14-15 feet Monday night through Tuesday. Winds and waves gradually decrease through mid-week as high pressure settles over the region. 22 &&
