NZUS56 KEKA 101202 WRKFWF .MARINE...A ridge of high pressure stationed off of the west coast will maintain a weak pressure gradient over the next several days. This means winds across the coastal waters will remain relatively light through the weekend with direction differing depending on whether you are navigating north or south of Cape Mendocino. Winds should become more gusty across the southern waters early next week as an inverted trough pinches the pressure gradient. South winds will increase by the middle of next week, but not substantially, as another storm system tracks over the Pacific Northwest. Moderate westerly wave systems have maintained a lower sea state today, but a fresh swell will bring 8 to 10 foot seas for Friday. A small craft advisory was issued for the northern outer water on Friday for seas around 10 feet. /kml/jt .AVIATION...The gloomy coastal weather pattern is finally coming to an end as drier northerly flow commences. Expect visibility to improve and cigs to dissapear later today for all coastal sites ...while interior sites remain vfr.
