...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 215 AM EDT THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northern Michigan, including the following 
  counties, Alcona and Iosco.

* WHEN...Until 215 AM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from 
  earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 811 PM EDT, Spotter reports and radar rainfall estimates
    indicate up to 5 inches of rain has fallen since 300pm across
    northeast Iosco...and southeast Alcona counties.  Streamflows
    and stages have increased on areas river as a result.

    Additional rainfall will be spreading into the area through
    the evening hours.  While the rainfall is not expected to be
    nearly as intense and persistent as it was during the
    afternoon...an additional 0.25 to 0.75 inch of rain is
    expected between 900pm and midnight.  This will continue the
    threat for flooding into the early morning hours of Thursday.

  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Tributaries to the Au Sable and Pine Rivers, Black River, Van
    Etten Creek.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Oscoda, Harrisville, Au Sable, Harrisville State Park, and
    Barton City.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.  Do not drive into areas where water crosses 
the roadway.
