.Areas of far eastern Nebraska and western Iowa received substantial 
rains this mornings.  It is likely there are many areas with 
standing water, potentially covering roads. Please use caution when 
driving in these areas, especially on unpaved roads.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of Iowa, including the following counties, 
  Harrison, Monona, Pottawattamie and Shelby. Portions of east 
  central Nebraska, including the following counties, Burt, Dodge 
  and Washington.

* WHEN...Until 315 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. It will take 
  several hours for all the water from these storms to work through 
  local drainage systems in urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1018 AM CDT, the public reported heavy rain in the warned
    area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to
    begin shortly. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Blair, Tekamah, Missouri Valley, Logan, Woodbine, Arlington,
    Fort Calhoun, Mondamin, Kennard, Persia, Modale, Herman,
    Pisgah, Craig, Magnolia, Little Sioux, Portsmouth, Tennant,
    Desoto Bend National Wildlife Refuge and Wilson Island State
    Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
