The National Weather Service in OXNARD has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  The inner waters south of a line from Palos Verdes to the eastern 
  Channel Islands and westward to include San Nicolas Island. 

* Until 1130 AM PDT.

* At 927 AM PDT, there continued to be isolated severe thunderstorms 
  capable of producing waterspouts. These storms were moving 
  northeast to northwest 10 to 20 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small 
           hail.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

  Catalina Island...
  Dana Point...
  Port of Los Angeles...
  Avalon...
  Two Harbors...
  Alamitos Bay...
  Santa Barbara Island...
  and San Nicolas Island.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.

Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
