GALE WARNING FOR SOUTHERN AREA

SITUATION AT 1200UTC
Vigorous westerly flow associated with a low 979hPa near 64S137E. Forecast low
975hPa near 63S151E at 021800UTC, and low 974hPa leaving east of area near
62S159E at 030000UTC. Vigorous westerly flow persisting thereafter.

AREA AFFECTED
Bounded by 59S131E 64S133E 64S152E 62S160E 51S160E 53S148E 57S148E 59S131E.

FORECAST
Westerly quarter winds within 420nm in the northern quarter of low and
throughout area east of 147E. Wind speeds 30/35 knots, easing below 34 knots
south and west of line 56S148E 62S160E from 020300UTC and south of 58S from
030900UTC. Rough to very rough seas. Moderate to heavy swell.
