The following message is transmitted at the request of the
Lincoln County Emergency Management.

An approximately 5 acre forest fire, the Chance Fire, located in 
Ruidoso near Chance Loop off Cedar Creek is currently blowing 
towards Cedar Creek Alpine Village. Winds are currently blowing 
from the southwest and are expected to continue to increase this 
afternoon before diminishing after sunset. Those living in Cedar 
Alpine Village can voluntarily evacuate if they feel it is 
necessary.
