...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 520 AM CDT EARLY THIS 
MORNING FOR SOUTH CENTRAL BAXTER, SOUTHERN IZARD, NORTHEASTERN 
SEARCY AND CENTRAL STONE COUNTIES...

At 248 AM CDT, gauge reports indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 3.5 inches of rain have 
fallen in the past few hours, with the greatest accumulations 
observed over parts of central Stone county and southern Izard 
county. Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 2 inches are possible 
in the warned area over the next few hours. Flash flooding is 
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Gauges reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Mountain View, Mount Pleasant, Blanchard Springs Campground, 
  Brandenberg, Herpel, Lone Star, Lunenburg, Gid, Croker, Stella, 
  Maumee, Big Flat, Guion, Allison, Gunner Pool Campground, 
  Fifty-Six, Barkshed Campground, Sylamore Bike Trail, Sylamore 
  Shooting Range and Sylamore.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
