...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 AM CDT THIS 
MORNING FOR FULTON, CENTRAL HICKMAN, SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI, 
NORTHEASTERN NEW MADRID, SOUTHWESTERN SCOTT AND EAST CENTRAL 
STODDARD COUNTIES...

At 803 AM CDT, emergency management reported widespread street 
flooding in Sikeston and parts of US Highway 61 near New Madrid due 
to flash flooding. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. 
Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned 
area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Sikeston, East Prairie, New Madrid, Fulton, Hickman, Bloomfield, 
  Clinton, Lilbourn, Miner, Big Oak Tree State Park, Hunter-Dawson 
  State Historic Site, Towosahgy State Historic Site, Morehouse, 
  Bertrand, Matthews, Essex, Howardville, Canalou, Anniston and 
  Farrenburg.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
