...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 915 PM EST THIS 
EVENING FOR CHARLOTTE AND HALIFAX COUNTIES...

At 449 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned 
area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen since late 
morning. Another band of heavy rain is currently passing across the 
warned area, with up to an additional inch of rainfall possible. 
This is likely to produce flash flooding of creeks and streams. 
Flooding of roads is likely as a result.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Ash Camp Creek, Armistead Branch, Ballous Creek, Bales Spring 
  Branch, Banister River, Aarons Creek, Allen Creek and Austin Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
