The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Scott County in east central Iowa...
  South central Clinton County in east central Iowa...

* Until 900 PM CDT.

* At 304 PM CDT, eight tenths of an inch of rain was measured in 20 
  minutes at the Davenport Airport . Up to one inch of rain has 
  already fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly. Expect flooding of urban roads, and creeks and streams.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, 
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other 
           drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Davenport, Rock Island, Bettendorf, Eldridge, Buffalo, Long Grove,
  Riverdale, Donahue, Maysville, Panorama Park, Park View, West Lake
  Park, Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, Davenport Municipal Airport,
  Credit Island and Scott County Park.


This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 74 in Iowa between mile markers 1 and 5.
 Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 287 and 302.
 Interstate 280 between mile markers 1 and 10.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
