The National Weather Service in St Louis has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern Bond County in south central Illinois...
  Southern Fayette County in south central Illinois...
  Northern Marion County in south central Illinois...

* Until 630 AM CDT.

* At 425 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 
  inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 
  inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing 
  or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Vandalia, Greenville, Kinmundy, Mulberry Grove, Farina, Omega, 
  Shobonier, Woburn, Stephen Forbes Station, Pleasant Mound, 
  Pittsburg, Shafter, St. Peter, Alma, Smithboro, Vernon, St. Paul, 
  Hagerstown and Brubaker.

This includes the following highways...
	Interstate 70 in Illinois between exits 52 and 61.
	Interstate 57 in Illinois between exits 127 and 135.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
