The National Weather Service in Paducah has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Wayne County in south central Illinois...

* Until 800 AM CDT.

* At 632 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding 
  occurring on Highway 15 and US Highway 45 in Wayne County. Between 
  5 and 9 inches of rain have fallen across northern Wayne County.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Fairfield, Wayne City, Cisne, Jeffersonville, Sims, Mount Erie, 
  Keenes, Johnsonville and Golden Gate.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
