The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Berkshire County in western Massachusetts...

* Until 1000 PM EDT.

* At 804 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible 
  in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Pittsfield, Lee, Lenox, Stockbridge, The Center At Lenox, Lenox 
  House Country Shops, Eastover, New Lenox, Lenox Station, 
  Tanglewood Performing Arts Center, Barkerville, Wheatleigh, 
  Tanglewood, Lenox Dale, West Pittsfield, Stearnsville, Stevens 
  Corner, Mahkeenac Terrace, Mahkeenac Shores and Carey Corner.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become 
unstable and unsafe.
