The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Pine County in east central Minnesota...
  Southern Burnett County in northwestern Wisconsin...
  Southwestern Washburn County in northwestern Wisconsin...

* Until 1145 PM CDT Thursday.

* At 748 PM CDT Thursday, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain across the warned area. Radar estimates of 2 
  to 4 inches of rain have fallen over the warned area. Rainfall 
  rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are likely over the next few 
  hours. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible 
  in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Pine City, Rock Creek, Shell Lake, Grantsburg, Trade Lake, Siren, 
  Webster, Branstad, Hertel, Randall, Sarona, Falun, Alpha, Four 
  Corners, Phantom Lake, Big Sand Lake, Trade River, Chengwatana 
  State Forest, West Rock and Greely.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 
enforcement and to the National Weather Service in Duluth when you 
can do so safely. Flooding can be reported to the National Weather 
Service at 1-800-685-8612.
