  Chowan County in northeastern North Carolina...

* Until 330 AM EST.

* At 1228 AM EST, the public reported flash flooding in Edenton. 
  Between 3 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is 
  already occurring.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Public reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Ryland, Valhalla, Tyner, Cape Colony, Mavaton, Cisco, Hancock, 
  Center Hill, Macedonia, Smalls Crossroads, Icaria, Saint Johns, 
  Gliden and Sign Pine.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
