The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Sampson County in central North Carolina...
  Wayne County in central North Carolina...

* Until 1000 PM EST.

* At 703 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the 
  warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Flash 
  flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Goldsboro, Clinton, Mount Olive, Fremont, Walnut Creek, Roseboro, 
  Pikeville, Newton Grove, Salemburg, Turkey, Falcon, Eureka, 
  Autryville, Seven Springs, Hobbton, Grantham, Mar-Mac, Brogden, 
  Spivey's Corner and Elroy.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. 
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles. Slow down and use caution to avoid 
hydroplaning. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to 
recognize the dangers of flooding.
